Shamrock Milkshake

(serves 4 large 16 ounce shakes  - about 64 ounces)

6 cups good vanilla ice cream (I used Blue Bell homemade vanilla)
1 1/2 cups 2% milk
1 1/4 teaspoons peppermint extract
15 drops green food coloring
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
green sprinkles for garnish

Put ice cream and milk in blender with  half of the green food coloring and peppermint.  Blend well.  Add additional as desired.  15 drops of food coloring and 1 1/4 teaspoons peppermint extract was perfect for us.

Serve with fresh whipped cream on top.

Mix 1 cup heavy whipping cream, until peaks begin to form.  Add 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.

Garnish with sprinkles.  Enjoy!
