5 cups ice cubes
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh basil leaves, washed (plus extra for garnish)
To create basil simple syrup: In a small sauce pan over medium-high heat combine sugar, water and basil leaves. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Strain basil leaves and place basil simple syrup in a mason jar.
In a blender combine ice, lemon juice and basil simple syrup. Blend until fine consistency is reached. Serve in a glass garnished with basil leaves.
